Help for tutors > Additional resources

The additional resources are dynamic - they will evolve and grow. In many cases, the additional resources are interactive activities that are classified under the three LearnHigher areas. By selecting a resource the user is taken into the respective websites for the LearnHigher areas of:

Listening and Interpersonal Skills - developed by the University of Leeds
Group Work - developed by Bradford University (link needed)
Oral Presentations - developed by Brunel University

The additional resources option provides a list of activities and exercises relevant to each episode. (show icon) (show screen capture of an additional resources page) If a resource is selected the user is taken to the appropriate page in the LearnHigher site. (show an example of a Learnhigher webpage). As more resources are added to the LearnHigher pages, more links will be added to this resource.

Although the additional resources have been designed for independent use they are also useful when introducing or reinforcing issues raised within the episodes. Within the LearnHigher webpages you will also find a range of learning objects and teaching resources that can be embedded within learning programmes. For example, the listening and interpersonal skills pages have a section specifically designed for tutors. The pages are broken down into four categories; listening skills, interpersonal skills, questioning skills and interpersonal skills in a virtual world. For each category there is a menu option providing teaching resources. (show a screen capture of the interpersonal skills page). It is worth spending some time exploring these pages to find resources ranging from simple reusable learning objects through to entire presentations designed to help tutors. These teaching resources are being added to on a regular basis so if you don't initially find what you are looking for, it is worth a revisit.
